Which vaccines are free for you
The National Immunisation Schedule gives free vaccines to people who are most at risk of getting very sick. It helps protect older people, pregnant women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and people with some health conditions.
- A free pneumococcal vaccine is available for people aged 70 and over or from age 50 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- A free shingles vaccine is available for people aged 65 and over, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people aged 50 and over, and some people with eligible medical conditions.
- A free flu vaccine is available every year for people aged 65 and over, pregnant women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and people with some health conditions.
- During pregnancy, free vaccines for whopping cough and RSV are also recommended to help protect both parent and baby.
Some adults with eligible medical conditions may also be able to get extra free vaccines.
